Interesting - I just checked my daily FT and note that I can already trade 31 US stocks on the London Market, plus about 20 Canadian stocks plus some Jpn and other stocks - with the London and Frankfurt Markets also tying up from later this year it means that London will then open at 7 am (their time) ie 2 hours earlier than now and Frankfurt will close 1 hour later - Brokers are already whining - but hell they get paid enough -

Maybe I just tend to be more optimistic but whilst I accept all the negative sentiments expressed so far I think it will lead to a far greater degree of involvement on stock trading provided it is coupled with a corresponding increase in the technology needed to compete in the markets - perhaps the days of the MM's will be numbered
