What did US/UK expect: war games? This is not a baseball game but Afghanistan 2 with different players.
The Serbs had 50 years to prepare their defenses and tactics and bury deep in the mountains (including fuel and factories). This will probably go on into the next US presidency and wouldn't be a bit surprised if Tony Blair's cabiner resigns by the end of the summer or first 1,000 British dead, whichever comes first.
