I have no problems with Fleckenstein. I've read some of his stuff and appreciate it. Just pointing out a counter argument to what he was saying. There are some valid questions regarding "what risk equity investors are taking to participate in potential growth". I think about the issue a lot. I am by nature nervous towards equities and a bond bull. As my best friend often points out, the only time I am bearish on bonds is when I am flat. Recognizing this about myself I constantly factor that into my own analysis of how I am seeing the world. Is the bond market really poised to rally or am I just seeing data selectively to fit my natural predisposition. I ask myself the same thing about the various analysts. Fleckenstein is a very bright guy and I appreciate his analysis. But he seems to have a natural predisposition to being bearish. So when I see his analysis I try to see if there could be an alternative perception of the data, such as in my post.
