People are odd but now I know why stocks go up around split time. And this is an intelligent educated business savvy woman!

Well.... my opinion is that intelligence, and education does not necessarily assist you in the stock market....

There are many participants in the market, the final price of any stock is the resultant opinion of said participants, and as strange as it may sound, these decisions are affected by the emotions, feelings, and other "airy" stuff, such as the participants "psyche"...

Hardly "factual", "logical", and "reasonable" stuff... hence, the resultant behavior of the price action.

Yes indeed, markets are alive and have "moods"

Such, is as valuable as the cold facts, fundamentals, and T/A (aka "voodoo").

It is important to keep a cool head, and most important, never be affected by what "common wisdom" says...

So.... Grasshoper, while emotions, do affect the market... one must learn to control such, one must learn to master the "mush", (he he he he), and better... learn to take advantage of such conditions... and buy when desperation, and depression rules....

And sell when crazy, bulging eyes, Quasimodos, control the day...

Yes, I admit that it is impossible to find the perfect top and/or bottom... as I recently did, I left a wad of cash on the table as my recent covered calls can attest, given the recent market action...but contrary to what has been suggested, I am not "hurting", as the profit of the called away shares (not yet, but probability indicates so), plus the premium... makes me smile and makes my banker even happier than I...

Then again... if that is what they mean by "hurt"... Oh Lucy, give me MORE PAIN PLEASE!!!! Not that I am not greedy... of course I am, but I will gladly give up some gain in exchange for lower risk. Any day.

There will always be the next chance to get in and do it again, The market... and now with the assistance of the Internet, is full of Quasimodos, that will be willing to give away valuable shares...

There is always an event of "alarming" characteristics, a war, a crisis, a media hype... you name it, it will be there, the perfect excuse for the Quasis to run scared and sell in haste... handing you the board to ride the next profit wave...

I just need to be patient, not necessarily intelligent nor educated... Just smarter than the proverbial Quasimodo. he he he he...

By no means I am "discovering the wheel" Jessee said it before... "there is a fool born every second"... (or was it every minute ?... hmm, either way, I just would need to be a little more patient).

Don't be surprised if a future IPO would come your way...
