"PS - anyone buying today ? -"

I bought som FLC at 7 1/4 today.
Felt it was closing the lower gap
it left on the way up.

Will be buying more in the 6 1/2
area as that might be targeted for
stop loss triggers.

-tom

$18 is Good!

A fairly steady high-teens price would be much better for the sector than boom-or-bust cycling, imho.

The Producers want to strike a balance.
Very high oil price would bring on much too much new production from everywhere. High teen prices won't stop drilling, but will moderate/control expansion of production capacity.

I think their goals are nicely in line with our best interests (as stockholders in RIG and other sector companies.)

regards,
diana

Slider,

CNBC just reported that the Yugo's don't have enough fuel to run their tanks. Anybody know where they get most of their crude and refined imports, if any?

DB 11:55 U.S. CRUDE OIL STOCKS DROP 1.7 MILLION BARRELS TO 342.9 MILLION (DOE).

In at RIG @ 25 7/8 and FLC @ 7 1/4 ....

P.S. - I agree with you about Faust, I think he might have been too nice ....

Nello

Slider,

you had it right when you blew the whistle a few days ago. A high five figure gain has evaporated and my portfolio is now within $2,000 of where I bought in back when oil was dancing around $11/bbl. A nice years salary turned into a long term investment ;-)

So much for the link between oil price and stock prices ... for the moment.

[Off-topic] Sports: Chicago Bulls, NY Knicks, Gerry Faust, etc.

<<''United Center'' ---- 2nd tier ! ~ ''noveau riche tradition'>>

You're right. The place itself wasn't very special. It was the players on the court. The arena itself? It's kind of 2nd tier, and definitely nouveau riche. Paid $800 a game on several occasions last year during the regular season just to watch Mike play in his final season. But the arena itself was kind of impractical. It was actually getting more and more difficult to see the scoreboard as the years went by. Those 6 banners in 8 seasons were definitely getting in the way of the scoreboard. <vbg> From a purely practical perspective, I would much rather watch a game in The Garden. Great view with nothing blocking the scoreboard. ;^)

<<Sadly, [Gerry Faust] was a 110% true blue dream coach in personality - just didn't have the experience, or the ability>>

I understand that he was a pretty good high school coach, though. ;^)

PS - Holtz was the man IMHO.
