Actually, if one had a good source for NWT kimberlite, particularly stuff from a diamond bearing pipe you could do quite well selling it. Im sure alot of WSP, ABZ, MPV and SUF shareholders would pay a few bucks to get a sample from their respective pipes, dykes, fissures etc. Getting kimberlite samples was initially quite hard to do, now they are showing up in the city dump, along with gold samples etc.
Seriously though, most mines could make a small but profitable side line buisness selling samples if they chose to.
