No, I may like watching AMD take on Intel but I'm not stupid.
AMD let up at the end of Q4, this was very disappointing. They shut down the last 2 weeks of Dec....and their process problem threw them 3 months behind schedule just at the wrong time...when Intel ramped up the speed bins on the Celeron and dropped prices.
They are just now starting to catch up again. Problem is that the K7 is just not a tweaked K6 core. It's a whole new architecture, chip set, motherboard. While they have gone to great strides to make it to the lowest common denominator, it's still a question mark, so I'll wait until I find out more. Should someone introduce a motherboard for it prior to release I'd take that as a positive sign for instance.

Doesn't mean I won't have a bout with insanity later and buy some AMD... <G>
