''We have not announced an agreement with ECI,'' said Charles McBrayer, PairGain's chief financial officer, denying the report. ''We have not announced a thing.'' Does anyone besides me see this as a cautiously worded denial? It doesn't say the report is wholly bogus, that there is no truth to the story, it just says that PAIR didn't make any such announcement. Maybe I've been listening to the Commander In Chief too much ("what the meaning of "is" is..."), but this non-denial denial isn't too convincing. Just out of curiosity, did anyone here lose any money on this fiasco? Seems to me that there may be more gainers than losers. BWDIK?
