The difference between last earnings release and this one is this: last time the big cap techs were about to undergo a correction. This time they are emerging from one. That said, I STILL would like to buy more RMBS in the low 60s. Just not gonna hold my breath. FWIW

Alan, if you think RMBS is trading on next week earnings announcement then you're really missing a lot - too much for me to try to explain.

By the way, just bought 1000 more shares @73.5.

Doug

Alan,

Rambus tanked in January not because they just met expectations for the previous quarter, but rather because Edelstone (?) came out the week before with hints of a delay, followed by Rambus reducing the expectations for the next 2-3 quarters. It foreshadowed possible problems, which obviously came true when Intel announced the Camino delay (interestingly, we got quite a pop at the IDF, but that was because there was so much concern that Rambus might be dropped entirely that just a delay was a relief). Rambus actually tanked before the earnings announcement in January. Remember the mini-brou-ha-ha when REH mentioned that he had sold his long position before the announcement and bought LEAPS with the cash (sorry to bring this back up, REH).

I'm on record as saying that I think we'll be in the $60-$70 range (maybe even the low $80s) until we get something shipped, so I agree with you that maybe there are better ST investments. But in terms of short memories, I think we should keep the story straight.
