Hi Richard,

Mutual fund flow has been declining for some time ... From what I read, the market is being held up by foreign buying and corporations buying back their own stock. I have also read that 50% of Microsoft's profits are from sale of puts on its own stock, and this is true of several other large technology stocks.

As far as the reduced spread, I think it signifies that there is no longer any sense of direction and that a change may be imminent, but I will leave it to someone else to expand on this and maybe indicate how accurate an indicator it is. Certainly if the close = the open, that is a dogi in candlesticks and indicates indecision.
