<<...who can grant your every desire (so long as your desires are acceptable within the set)>> As usual, through your ignorance, you are refering to me but implicating someone entirely different. My God grants prayers or desires whether acceptable to me and my set or not. Wouldn't be All Powerful if you could get your way against his will now would he? The rewards and punishments are well laid out in his message to you and the rest of us and tend to work out according to plan as can be seen with a review of his-story. You choose and reap according to what you sew. <<The penalty set tends more to having your theory laughed at or ignored, than to getting burned at the stake or beheaded.>> As usual, only this time, I'm sure its deliberate. You've been to a lot of events where people are burned at the stake and beheaded, right? People are frequently put to death individually or en-mass in this world. I don't see these events as aligning with the directives for peace on earth and good will toward men, prescribed in scripture. I do see them as corrolating with the political asperations of the powerful and elite. The penalties for evil acts and intentions (which I would include in the catagories of bad ideas) tend to be getting laughed at, if you are a simple fool; and much more serious if you are clever enough to deceive others in your mischief. Not always are penalties at the hands of other men, but since I have faith in a just God, in the eternal sense of the concept of reward and punishment; I believe things will ultimately prove fair and just. <<I know some religous scientists who maintain that there are some questions they don't ask because they don't really want to know the answer.>> Of course you do. How could anyone like you maintain such confidence in their narrow view and bigotry if they didn't siphon and exploit the nonexepliary representatives to justify their view. There is nothing wrong with scientific inquiry as I have said before. Infact it is an essentially important societal tool as well as a good and practical method for understanding the physical universe. <<There is no central authority or guidebook that insists that we ask every question that comes to mind.>> Yes there is. <<I maintain the scientific method is a superior meme set because it is constantly expanding and it's results are useful to both the scientist and the world at large.>> And because you worship it. I find scientific method essential but limited. I find Democracy to be the best choice but limited. I like the Vast resources and opportunity in the USA but they are limited. I find joy through the involvement with my wife and children but find it limited. I find the justice system critical but flawed. I find the education system a wonder to behold but inadequate in meeting all my needs to acquire information. I find justification and understanding for all of the above; as well as purpose, fulfillment and complete satisfaction through my faith in God.
