The moment of truth in 1.5 hours. Will the earning be at least 0.12? Will there be a split? If not, we may be in big trouble. It has been fairly weak the whole day.

I don't ever believe in fixing or rigging markets. That's for the pro's. But I stand on my record in CMGI and DELL.

Just pretend for a moment that you're one of those boyz that has someone that owes them a favor.

"Hey, Myron, I need YHOO to go up."

"Well, that's a very broad question. What do you mean by the term, 'go up'?"

"People these days look at sales. But ANALYSTS look at profit. And market share. And whose paying them. What does it take to have this stock to go up?"

"Really?"

"Well, yes, really....."

"If I were a wize guy (and I'm not), I' just buy $5M of advertising, pay the whole schebang, and add a few more pennies to YHOO's earnings."

"Well, that sounds ok. You mean I only pay $5M and my holdings increase by $1B or more?"

"That's about right..."

"Are there any catches to this?"

"None. Not unless the SEC has the time to investigate you."

"Hey, those odds sound better than coin-flip odds to me."

"So, is there a decision to make here?"

"You bet. It's how much advertising to buy just before next quarter's earnings...."

Just IMO.

Best regards and good investing,

Mark A. Peterson
