jubimer,

don't forget Ampex Data Systems' ipo potential as well as the others - Micronet, Aentv, TVW, and Reiter.

jeff, no two ipo's are alike. In the event Ampex Holding Corp. did ipo anyone of its subsidiaries. Most likely IMO, Ampex would take public a portion, and hold a portion. If ipo is sucessfull or not, valuations would be made +/- for the portion of shares controlled by Ampex Holding Corp. In essence you as a shareholder? would own shares of the new ipo.

Cheers,
digger

Jubimer,

Thanks for the site, I will check it out.

A few other notes after rereading the press release.

''As Ampex's commitment to new markets expands, our business units increasingly have differing needs and strategies. This new organizational structure helps to focus the plans of each unit and to execute them faster. Our growth strategy for Internet video envisions additional internal projects, strategic investments and acquisitions, which makes a holding company increasingly appropriate,'' stated Edward Bramson, chairman of Ampex Corporation.

Specifically "growth strategy for Internet video envisions additional internal projects, strategic investments and acquisitions"

Ed's looking to buy other internet companies and also develop something with in-house technical expertise.

"The company is further expanding its presence in image-based markets by building an early presence in Internet video. Ampex's strategy is to increase the range, content and quality of its video offerings over the world wide web in line with future increases in the availability of high-speed Internet access."

Specifically what does "increase the range" mean?
Does Ampex plan to increase the "quality" through in-house means?
It seems reasonable that they would have a technology to do this but specifically said in the 10K, if I remember correctly, that they did not have any proprietary technology as it related to internet webcasting.

Ed is starting to let his plan out.

Chris
