Can anyone logically explain this to me?

Sure! I sold my AWRE long ago, and kept PAIR....

Try these numbers, from Zacks:

PAIR AWRE
12/99 est. .41 .14
Change fm Prior -25% +227%
12/00 .54 .35
5 Year Change +22.5% +30%

The number that people focus on are estimates in the future.
According to WS, AWRE has the momentum on its side, while PAIR
has stalled. The betting here is that the AWRE estimates are overly
rosy, while PAIR will surprise on the upside--though not necessarily
next week :-).

Yes it is called the magic of the insane speculator ( not investor ,cuz they don't exist)!

For the very reason of the Pricelines, VerticalNets,Ktels, Amazons, we can have AWRE at a mkt cap of 1.2 b. I know because I have seen WSTL at 2b mkt cap ( now at 140m). Get the hint?
