DLJ Direct lets you short almost anything.

I have accounts at Schwab, Datek and DLJ. I must warn you by saying that my experience is that DLJ Direct has *BY FAR* the worst customer service of those three firms -- it's not even close. However, they let you short a lot of stocks. Just expect nothing from customer service because that's exactly what you are going to get, and that is if you are lucky.

Datek is getting pretty annoying because they are getting more and more conservative with regards to what is marginable and what is not, and at Datek only marginable stocks can be shorted. In my opinion, Schwab has the best customer service of the three. The old adage, "you get what you pay for" is still true.
