First caveat... I'm no chip authority by any means. And then again, neither is Peter de Jager.

As I'm sure you've seen C.K. Houston say repeatedly, a chip is a singular thingamee. It's the systems they're built into that we need to be concerned with.

Regarding "expect"... I certainly didn't expect to step off my motorcycle at 110+mph [ y2ktimebomb.com ]. If you ran a bank and asked your loan officers if they'd made any bad loans today, naturally their answers would be "No."... yet somewhere in the pile are loans that will go sour.
