I'm at the kiosk in the Atlanta Days Inn. My
first impression is that this thing is going to
be a real money maker. It's slick and easy to
use, and it's in a great location. (Walk in the
front door, pass the desk, and the kiosk is there
across from the elevators, next to the ATM).

It takes cash (bills) or credit cards, and it is
incredibly easy to use.

It's a Windows machine with 64M RAM, 4M video,
looks like a 17 inch screen, all mounted in a
slick looking, wood cabinet that's about 4 feet
high. There's a chair here, so people can sit
here and use it for a while. It's connected to
the net via a standard phone cable, and the
download speed seems fine.

It's running a browser made by iCom, who
apparently builds the machines. The browser is
simple and seems as fast as any other.

It does a lot more than browse. You can play
on-line games, and if you have an AOL account,
you can apparently access it directly.

I've been here about 15 minutes, and suffered
one lock up - typical for Windows. The actual
machine is inside the cabinet. I had to reboot
with Ctrl-Alt-Del. It ran scan disk and came
back up fine to the menu screen.

Any questions, ask them now - I'm not going to
stay here too long though (the clock is ticking -
literally, there's a clock on screen at the
bottom which gives you the running time).
