Banks do store that information but only for about 3 to 6 months online; after that, off to the microfiche dungeon...

Doesn't sound like a paperless office to me.<G>
I'm not saying it's easy, but I like this Benny's idea of a checkbook. I would't trust my checkbook to YHOO or AOL, but I'd pay some extra money to the bank for providing this service. When banks see their customers going to portals, they will have to come up with additional services and a checkbook might be one of them. Having your checkbook, they may even offer you to prepare your income tax. I know, it is not easy.<G>

Digital Insight Named Home Banking Provider For The Golden 1, California's Largest Credit Union

April 22, 1999

CALABASAS, Calif., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Insight Corporation announced today it signed an agreement with The Golden 1 Credit Union naming Digital Insight the exclusive provider of full-service Internet home banking for its member base. The Golden 1, based in Sacramento, CA, is California's largest credit union, serving nearly 350,000 members.

The credit union wanted to improve its system up-time and reduce transaction response time, thereby providing members with reliable, 24-hour home banking and bill payment. The Golden 1 also needed to ensure that members could download their financial information into personal financial management software applications such as Microsoft(R) Money or Intuit(R) Quicken. In addition, The Golden 1 wanted to improve the functionality of its Internet banking by enabling members to complete cross-account transfers, obtain stock quotes, review credit card information, and eventually have bills presented to them over the Internet.

The Golden 1 will use AXIS(TM) Internet Account Access, hosted by Digital Insight, to offer its members Internet-based services such as balance inquiries, transaction history, CheckFree bill payment, and funds transfer. Digital Insight enables The Golden 1 to offer stock quotes to its members through Quote.com.

The Golden 1 selected Digital Insight based on its industry-wide reputation for reliability, superior system up-time, minimal response times and an existing interface to its host computer, the USERS' DataSafe system. "We were looking for a solid, established Internet banking vendor with a proven product. Based on references from the many other Digital Insight clients we spoke with, we've found exactly that in Digital Insight," said Anne Luse, Vice President of The Golden 1's Electronic Services Division. "Everything we see, hear, and know about Digital Insight tells us we've made the right decision."

With improved account access and response times, The Golden 1 anticipates significant growth in the use of the Internet as a cost-effective, convenient banking channel for its members.
