Pfizer Has Sold 2.5 Mln Viagra Pills in Germany, Paper Says Karlsruhe, Germany, April 9 (Bloomberg) -- Pfizer Inc., the world's fifth-biggest drugmaker, sold 2.5 million of its impotence treatment Viagra in Germany since the drug went on sale in the country six months ago, German daily newspaper Die Welt reported, citing the company. About 70 percent of Germany's General Practitioners and almost all urologists prescribed the drug for more than 300,000 patients, the newspaper reported. Viagra became one of the most successful new products on the German pharmaceutical market, the newspaper said. Viagra became the fastest-growing prescription drug in the world after it was introduced last year in the U.S., Europe and elsewhere amid a wave of publicity.
