RTev, that is interesting. He should not announce it publically but use it as part of the settlement talks.
(but then again---what do i know??)
He probably knows all the implications in the settlement talks.

Not so unusual. Microsoft® makes Windows NT source code available to universities and other "not-for-profit" research institutions at no charge. Currently, there are over 55 universities and government agencies with source licenses.
