Mohan,

What I don't understand is if AMD didn't meet it's target chip shipments and growth in the low end is still fabulous, who is making up for the slack!? I have to run the numbers again but this is amazing, something doesn't match up. I can understand the revenue bit, as ASP fell dramatically, but shipments too?

Are some of these boxes shipping w/o CPUs or what?

-BGR.

Mohan I would put AMD in the same category as HWP and CPQ. They have a reputation for not being totally honest with "the street." If you invest in those dogs, then you have to expect warnings.

Has MSD ever not hit (or exceeded) the analyst targets?? Maybe he has been a little light on sales growth but in the earnings dept. he has a stellar track record. IMHO, that's what counts. I think tomorrow he'll have a heart to heart talk with some of those jokers from Wall Street and help them understand what is important. It is essential to MANAGE expectations.

I continue to have faith in DELL.

Regards,

Scott

Ref:AMD

Apratim:
Couple of things

1)Yield problems (nothing new, they tend to throw away more chips than they ship)

2)Severe price competition in under 400 MHZ processor market-Can you say Celeron?

This is what I am thinking.
