Hi, I wish this was new, but it is not. The original new release came out January '99. The price has dropped, but not by much.

3COM: 3Com powers system builders with 3Com connectivity and brand name

SEP 13, 1999, M2 Communications - SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- 3Com
Corporation (NASDAQ: COMS) today announced a new program that will bring
the power of 3Com's products and brand name to system builders.

At this week's System Builders Summit in Boca Raton, Florida, 3Com
unveiled its 3Com Connected Associates Program. Geared for system
builders who pre-install 3Com connectivity products purchased from
certain distributors, this program offers a suite of 3Com's
connectivity products -- from award-winning standard V.90 56K analog
modems to the best-in-class Network Interface Cards (NICs). With the
top modems and NICs on the market, 3Com is recognized as a very trusted
brand for reliable, high-performance connections. "The 3Com Connected
Associates Program is wonderful for end-user customers, who will be at
ease seeing the 3Com Connected logo on their new PCs," said 3Com OEM
Sales Manager Mike Brodsky. "It's also great for system builders, who
can bank on the market leadership, reliability and reputation of 3Com's
connectivity in their products."

"Connectivity is a growing worldwide phenomenon, even in the
outskirts of Africa," said Leon Lourens, director of Pinnacle Micro, a
South Africa-based hardware distributor, which is one of 20
participants already registered in this 3Com program. Pinnacle is
supplying 3Com Connected products for three wide area networks being
built to support the Seventh All Africa Games, the country's largest
multi-sporting event, to be held in Johannesburg this month.
"Pinnacle's policy is to pursue working relationships with leading
technology companies worldwide," Lourens said. "The 3Com Connected
Associates Program is exactly that: a win-win relationship with one of
the most respected technology companies in the world."

The 3Com Connected Program

The 3Com Connected Associates Program is a chapter of the larger 3Com
Connected program.

The 3Com Connected program is an aggressive, multi-million dollar
branding and channel development program that teams 3Com, a global
leader in Internet and network connectivity, with leading PC
manufacturers, national resellers and distributors from around the
world. The 3Com Connected name represents an umbrella brand from 3Com
signifying well-known, best-in-class network and personal connectivity
products, pre-installed in popular PCs. In turn, people who buy PCs
with the 3Com Connected logo are assured of high quality and hardware
and operating system compatibility with 3Com NICs and modems.

3Com Connected systems give corporate MIS customers a one-step
solution to purchase and install PCs, laptops and servers that deliver
the benefits of reduced integration costs, lower overall cost of
ownership, and faster uptime onto the network. For consumers, the 3Com
Connected seal ensures they won't waste time figuring out which
Internet access product to buy and then learning how to install and
configure it. 3Com and 3Com Connected participants help to fulfill the
promise of instant Internet access by completing the installation and
configuration process in advance, allowing customers to take their
systems out of the box and connect them without hassle.

The 3Com Connected Associates Program allows system builders to
receive training on how to install and configure 3Com products in their
systems, purchase 3Com products at competitive prices, and incorporate
the "3Com Connected" logo on their systems and in their marketing
materials.

Resellers interested in learning more about the 3Com Connected
Associates Program are encouraged to contact their sales representative
or visit the program's home page at 3com.com.
