Gary and Justa,

I checked and ETEC is and remains a member of the small capitus 600, as does UTEK, SVGI, SFAM etc.

Sold my small capitus Montgomery fund today due to so many small stocks that I've been snapping up lately.

Rgds, D

Gary: "From the info I see in the SI charting facility, the market cap of ETEC is only about 20% greater than CYMI."

Yeah, but calculate that with the average selling price of ETEC of around $40 and we are around 900m. Besides, I said it was one of the "larger" companies.

Re: "Don't you think ETEC may also be afflicted with small-cap-itis along with CYMI?"

Yes, if it market cap keeps cratering larger cap funds will have to dump it. Not likely IMO.

Re: "I don't understand why 20% should make much difference, but maybe it could--the market's perception is what matters here."

IMO, it is a combination of market cap and institutional ownership. Maybe you call it "market perception." Compare it to CYMI. It has about 40% institutional ownership and ETEC has over 95%. UTEK has about 35% institutional ownership. No comparison all things considered. The institutions have voted and ETEC wins and their vote is the only one that matters.
