Significant news out today on TouchStone Software (TSSW) Agreement.

TouchStone Software Simultaneously Announces Purchase of Phoenix Technologies' CardWare(R) and Licensing Agreement With Compaq

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- TouchStone Software Corporation (Nasdaq: TSSW - news) announced today the purchase of the CardWare® product line from Phoenix Technologies (Nasdaq: PTEC - news) as well as a licensing agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ - news), the largest global supplier of PCs.

TouchStone's newly acquired CardWare simplifies end-user PC Card use in a variety of ways. CardWare enables seamless PC Card insertion, removal and/or exchange in a Windows NT environment. CardWare's integrated support of Compaq's power management suspend/resume modes allows PC Cards to continue functioning when a system resumes power. The need to reboot for PC Cards is almost eliminated. CardBus is the high-performance PC Card interface technology that provides greater data throughput. This version of CardWare enables cold docking, supports PC Card sockets both in the docking bay and the system and provides the user with additional PC Card slots. The CardWare SDK (Software Developer's Kit) targets PC Card technology developers, facilitating the implementation of PC Card device drivers and applications. Both CardWare and the CardWare SDK enable hot swapping of standards-compliant devices such as CardBus, modems, ATA, SRAM, Flash, Zoomed Video, multi-function, combo and other PC Cards

''We are pleased with Compaq's commitment to CardWare's leading-edge PC Card technology as well as their confidence in TouchStone to continue to provide them with the engineering and support resources that they demand for their mobile PC customers'', said Pierre A. Narath, President and CEO of TouchStone. TouchStone is committed to the success of our OEMs and will continue to provide them with competitive products, robust technology, and most of all dependability.

Cube,

Yes, exactly: I've been playing that very shape for two years now. I call it an accordion. I salute your ORCL buy: I planned to buy at exactly that point, but at the open--just in case it gapped down, then didn't get to the screen till 10:30 and it had already done what I'd been looking for.
I have to--not advise, but pontificate: Don't be shy about taking profits on this one. It's a quasi-cat, and they're dangerous.

Ivan
