HJ... I posted yesterday that software people are getting killed.

I know of at least 4 people that were associated with peoplesoft in some way - 2 of them post here - and these people have lost 80%+ of their net worth.

I had a job offer from psft a few years ago and I always regretted not taking it. If I had taken it, this year I would have been wiped out too ... because at least half of any psft stock options from 1996, 1997 and almost all of 1998 stock options are worthless now (and like all these companies the salaries aren't that great). Almost everybody participates in the stock purchase plan and unless people have the foresight to sell they have a loss on that too.

Its not just peoplesoft, but almost all software companies. The founders of vntv, rmdy etc were once worth 30MM and now have 4MM or less.

Its very sobering to see and I hope something like this never happens to net investors..... but it probably will.
