bob,

personally, i think they all start low on price on purpose so they can raise the price 1-2 times before actual pricing....this implies that this stock is supposedly "hot".....a marketing ploy really......but then again, all internet related ipo's by definition have been "hot"....as far as leaving money on the table....i think they would rather lose abit of money rather then have a stock that doesnt "pop", hence limiting its momentum.....if you think about it, if i owned 25 million shares, i want a 300% increase after open rather than earn an extra 5-6 million for the company....this could mean an extra $100 million for the top brass personally.
