I wouldn't expect .com type results in this sector. I would tuck away some cash into companies like GLM, IO, ESV wait till it yields a double or 50 % in a few months and then get out. The sector is undervalued and they have an uphill battle against the fickle oil price that may tank to $ 14 again and inflation and interest rates may go lower by year end. Short term appreciation won't be much!

Len, did you see in the GLM Annual report where they said 15 of the 16 contracts they have for drilling in the GOM expire(d) on March 1 1999 ???

Dear Reader,

The "Part II" of this weekend's Offshore Drilling Bits consisted of a
(very long) reprint of a speech given by Matt Simmons, President of
Simmons & Co. International, an investment banking firm specializing
in energy and oil service companies.
The article has generated quite a bit of interest, feedback and questions.

Today I got in touch with Matt and asked if he would field questions
from the subscribers of Offshore Drilling Bits. He graciously
accepted the invitation.

What I would like to do is a "Twenty Question" interview with Matt
based on questions from you.

I will filter and edit the questions you send me and try to publish
the interview this coming weekend. Please send your questions to me at:
mailto:mike@simmons.net

Thank you for your continued support and feedback.

Yours faithfully,

Mike Simmonshttp://loosbrock.com/odb
