2%?! Man, I'd be thrilled if it were that...though I'd still do as I have, keep a US and a CDN $ account. No reason they should get an extra piece of every trade, right?

In fairness, though, your bank does the same thing. And banks in the US, particularly smaller ones and S&L's, sometimes do pretty outrageous gouging on foreign exchange.
