Having listened to the conference call --Ron and Co. dismissed practically every concern that I have seen brought up here recently and I think they did it well. i.e. Windows CE -- nothing to worry about with engineers as the customer base not end-users Sun ChorOS -- few design wins even in their own markets, Linux open code solutions providing only a kernel not a "portfolio of technology" --Ron was convincing about the company's strength in the market context, Dick was very clear with his numbers. Dave Fraser showed real excitment about the new technology. Curt Shacker put it all in a good marketing context. And Jerry gave us some nice perspective on what WIND is trying to offer that no one else is even thinking about right now. Maybe it is costing us short-term but they gave me the perception that they are on the cutting edge of an explosive market. --Incredibly upbeat and very exciting news. if you want info and feel the need to ask questions about WIND business, I stongly suggest you listen in on the recording. Two new major products shipping at the end of the month. This looks like a bit of a product cycle hiccough to me. Nothing to sell this quarter, with so much new and exciting next. Can't help but lose your verve if you are in sales, while looking ahead to the next big game --Also, if you knee-jerk want to fire the management team based on third-hand perceptions, listen into a dose of reality. These guys are better at spin than Clinton. Very confident, very calm, very knowledgeable in the face of a huge controversial storm, not to mention the loss of countless millions between them. --I for one feel better, although I know that my own gut feelings mean nothing. Can't see it going lower in the longish term if things pan out the way they said they would. --With all of this, so little attention was paid to the stumble. Why did they break WIND like this? Oh well, it always feels better afterwards.
