TOKYO, Apr 08, 1999 (Asia Pulse via COMTEX) -- Tokyo Seimitsu Co. (TSE:7729) has started producing high value-added semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including wafer inspection systems, chemical planers and back grinders, company officials said.

The company expects the products to make up 65% of total sales by fiscal 2002.

Wafer probing machines, high-precision calibrators and in-line measuring systems represented over 80% of an estimated 30.5 billion yen in fiscal 1998 sales.

The company is changing its product line to keep in time with advances in chipmaking technologies.
