thought it would be up 2 or 3

That's exactly what I was thinking with that gap-up opening. I didn't get up early enough to see or hear that Merrill Lynch had poor-mouthed HWP and CPQ, which was the official scapegoat for the poor NASDAQ performance today.

So it wasn't just MU doing a gap-and-gasp; NASDAQ and $SOX (which gives you 15 more graphs to look at) all looked exactly the same for the beginning of the day.

But the latter part of the day is another story. Don't mention this to DavidG, but a certain stock ignored the 2:30 market-wide buy completely and played along for exactly five minutes after another clear market-wide buy program started at 3:11.

The dumpola at the very end was on decent volume, not a panic. Note that NASDAQ dumped as well.

Shall we expect a supportive press release or two from the tater-town tout-fest to be waiting for us on the doorstep tomorrow morning?
