I agree with your first paragraph, wallstreeter, but my mind isn't yet made up about the internet side of the business.

It is so hard for any company to put its website in front of the target audience. There are perhaps only 30 truly well-known e-commerce sites. After you think of www.amazon.com and www.ebay.com, what's next? Signing on with the big portals (AOL, Yahoo, etc.) gets quite expensive! Advertising, also, is very costly when you're dealing with a niche audience. Getting your site into any search engine's 'top 30' is extremely competitive. Add into the equation the fact the ETPI's URL names are not intuitive so you won't find them by typing in the name that might come into your mind first.

My point is that any start-up effort has a high initial cost compared to e-commerce revenue. Amazon.com has never made a profit despite its popularity. Maybe the internet effort will suck up cash flow that could be critically needed in other expansion areas.

I don't say that internet commerce is wrong for ETPI. I simply think we need to examine our assumptions and compare them to reality.
