I agree. No real synergy between FORE and CSCO. Then again, some acquisitions occur to eliminate competition, or prevent your real competition from getting at resources that could help them. Check out the good news for Nortel biz.yahoo.com This is great news for FORE in two ways: Nortel and FORE are still in bed with each other...I think, so this translates indirectly into a great pipeline of future FORE sales. Plus, NT has always been one of the leaders in the acquisition rumor mill to acquire FORE (gartner group thought so) and now that their stock jumped by 8 1/4 today to 76, their currency (NT stock) is now valuable enough to make another alleged run for FORE. They really do have the best synergy for FORE....in fact, I think I saw the NT execs at National Airport hop on a charter to Pittsburgh after the Bell Atlantic deal.....surrounded by investment bankers....wearing FORE baseball caps....
