Can I ask a question and not get bashed, please.

The only reason I bash OG is because he specifically comes over to the ASND thread to lay CSCO rhetoric on us. We dont mind REAL info on the competition but repeated rhetoric BS sucks. Please feel free to post on this thread, we're a friendly bunch except when we have to rebuff a maligned poster.

I'm thinking about selling the ASND shares after the LU earnings and buying back after the ASND earnings report.

I cannot help you on this one. I traded ASND last year but now that Im in with the big boys I am an investor. Im in long term (5 yrs.) with LU regardless of the mid/late summer corrections. With T's MASSIVE internet buildout just beginning we might not see as extreme correction with LU this year as we did last year. They dont have the data networking hole/question mark hanging over them this year. I would not be concerned with ASND's earnings report this quarter. Hope this helps.

GO ASND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What you are proposing is risk with a certain upside potential. Be sure to trade that off with holding ASND/LU for a year and getting lower long-term capital gains. Is the potential short-term (small?) gain worth breaking the holding period for long term cap gains?

just a thought ...

You might consider selling in the money covered calls instead of selling.
