John,

I see Linux making a dent in UNIX platforms just as much or
even more so than NT.

Hello???? John, Linux itself is a Unix platform. What, exactly,
are you trying to say?

Mr. John F. Dowd,

I see Linux making a dent in UNIX platforms just as much or even more so than NT.

Exactly correct John. Because of the expense involved in going from one platform to another (Unix to WIN2000) most companies will stay with their platform. Anyone with a little knowledge and some common sense will see this. That's one of the reasons WIN2000 is increasing while Unix is slowly decreasing.

Having been in management and having to purchase computer systems, training is one of the major cost issues. It comes down to TOC.

Linux, Unix its all the same and they are fighting it out for their portion of the market.

Thank You

JK
