Dear Srini: Doesnt make ME happy. Colliding with SUNW will just damage both companies to the detriment of the shareholders of which I am one in both companies. JDN

Srini - Re: " What do you make of this?...Intel To Collide With Sun In High-End Chip Market "

In the high end, where Intel wants to sell Pentium III XEON servers and eventually Merced Servers, SUN would make an ENORMOUS ALLY for Intel.

SUN's Solaris server software is regarded as the BEST for stability and scalability.

SUN is already committed to making Solaris for Merced and Solaris is already available for Pentium XEON servers.

Intel has more to gain by getting SUN to help them (Intel) than by trying to squash SUN.
