<< McKay...has done what he has promised >> Ed, thanks for pointing this out. It subtly bothered me that the whining always seemed to begin once again every time [& on time!] MM delivered one of his terse announcements - I had this in the back of my mind and never quite plugged it into my verbal cortex <G>. I also like your apples and bananas, and would make another use of the metaphor with regard to << without...hype >> - Jensen has a different job - raising money to keep a struggling company afloat. This requires a lot of fast talking, persuasion, even a little "forward-looking" language. Mr. McKay does not have to persuade anyone - just do his job, and be on schedule in reporting his progress. Apples and bananas. If you use the same argument from the reverse perspective, it is equally unfair to charge Jensen with << hype >>, when MM isn't saddled with the tedious and perennial task of convincing purses to open. With regard to your << era of Jensen >>, it is still and will continue to be the era of Jensen. It may surprise some that Jensen is delighted to have important technical responsibilities in hands more capable than his own. Jensen recruited MM, and cannot be more pleased with his participation nor sing enough of his praises. You make it sound as though some sort of coup d'etat has taken place, where DJ lost and MM won - nothing could be further from the case. This is a team. When you applaud MM, whether you know it or not or like it or not, you are congratulating a team. The black hat/white hat administrative dichotomy you seem to imply exists, doesn't.
