Yes, that is a major complaint for x86/IA32 Solaris.

Hopefully and new "white boxes" will be fitted with hardware and drivers directly supported by Solaris.

If you sum up the number of "possible" varieties of hardware that plug into PCs that have been made since 1981, the number is truly mind boggling.
