<< What covered calls are you considering selling?>>
I haven't really looked at which ones to sell yet. I'm waiting for the price to "peak".

To Thread - PAIR was promoted on SI as a take over company but it was all false. Be careful what you read and always do your own due diligence.

From the article: "...Someone copied the Bloomberg page design and created a false news story that caused the dramatic increase last Wednesday in the trading value of PairGain Technologies, a Tustin, Calif., maker of telecommunications equipment.

The report said PairGain would be acquired by an Israeli firm, ECI Telecom, for $1.35 billion, or about twice its market value at the time.

During the day, the value of PairGain stock rose as high as $11.12 1/2 from a closing price the day earlier of $8.50. After company officials disputed the report and the page was pulled from the Internet, the stock dropped to $9.37 1/2 on trading volume of 13.7 million shares, nearly seven times its usual volume of about 2 million shares..."

It's ok to speculate on turn around situations or new emerging growth industries but to speculate on take over "rumors" is usually wasted money.

PairGain investors found this out the hard way.

P.S. Bell Atlantic announced a new contract for aDSL equipment....Bell Atlantic Awards Contract to Westell for Wide-Scale Deployment Of Telecommunications Performance Monitoring Equipment.

"Westell's relationship with Bell Atlantic continues grow, from the work we're doing with BA in the ADSL marketplace to the award of this new TAP contract. We are very pleased to have won this contract to deploy PROACT throughout the Bell Atlantic region," stated J. Nelson, Westell's President and Chief Operating Officer...."

We should hear something from AFCI regarding the rumored RBOC (according to all guesses it is with SBC) but probably only after April 15, 1999 as this is the "official" first day for our new CEO.
