I think Pisani goofed bigtime and someone should call him and let him know. Maybe he'll retract.

I think the share issuance is a factor we can't deny. I don't see any reason for them to issue shares anymore. This company is sitting on a huge pile of cash. Why crush the shares?

As far as the earnings report goes, the only thing that'll matter is what the CEO says. The numbers won't mean a thing.

Roger and Thread,

Pisani is just reflecting the conventional market wisdom, which tends to overgeneralize, lumping apples, oranges, flash memories, and hard disks together as if it's all the same, and after all, technology is technology, wheat is the same as chaf, and besides, wheat and corn are all grains. That, believe it or not, is really the mentality of many analysts and brokers. The key to investing in technology is that the so-called experts understand financial statements but have no sense of the technology itself. I firmly believe that no one can successfully navigate this area without an understanding of what a company does, how its products are used, and how good the management is, not only in running the company but compared to their competition.

I monitor quite a few sources in order to follow these stocks (insider trading, trade journals, scientific journals, etc.) and find no news which would explain the price weakness, other than these well publicized, and somewhat naieve statements. Art
