Gary,

Hear! Hear!

So far your predictions in the chip domain has been uncannily accurate.

>>What does this mean? It means that you better get for sub $600 machine soon,
cause that market won't be with us long, IMO.<<

when intel obsoletes the old stuff there are competitors who won't. since the old stuff is good enough for the vast majority of businesses, it will sell. the sub $600 computer is here to stay. and drop.

btw, if intel doesn't play then they will miss the boat... AGAIN! ;-)

Much of what you wrote rings true, but when you start to envision the future of the PC market, you went somewhere unexpected. How can you possibly assert, better get for sub $600 machine soon, cause that market won't be with us long, IMO.? Every marginal development so far indicates the opposite. Unless, that is, you are saying that prices will go so low that only high-end boxes will be that high... <g> -mb

Gary, I hope you don't mind if I bookmark that prediction and zap you with it in a year. <g> It is the above $1000 market that is doomed, not the sub $600.
