In a preliminary proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange C Commission, eBay also is seeking to boost the authorized number of preferred s shares to 10 million from 5 million. EBay shareholders are expected to vote on the authorizations at the company's a annual shareholder meeting on May 28. In its filing, the online-auction company said it currently has no specific p plans to issue the additional shares that would be authorized under the p proposal, but that "these shares will provide additional flexibility to use our c capital stock for business and financial purposes in the future." -
