last week?? !! I said SFE was overvalued and cut my position by 1/2 . Here's what my brother had to say ( a day Late ) about the issue and DTPI. Warning: he's in the business, but is a raging bull and co manages a fund that uses the momentum investment principle. He is also only 28, so he's never seen anything other than a bull market. DTPI went down because all ERP (enterprise resource planning) software stocks (peoplesoft, Baan, SAP...) are WAY off their highs because everyone is pushing back implementation of new software until Y2K is done. DTPI is viewed as having exposure in software implementation and consulting, so people shot first and asked questions later. It has rallied back pretty well again because CEO is out there saying biz is good. AND 1/2 of there assignments are internet ecommerce related. It looks like they were small enough to roll with the changing times unlike almost all of their competitors CATP (cambridge technology partners a SFE company that just blew up and will have major investor law suits), KEA (keane) and CHRZ (computer horizons). If you look at the companies mentioned above and the problems they have been having and will have for another 6-9 months, you will know why people doubt DTPI, nevertheless, they seem to be making it. On SFE, I wouldn't sell, the public market value of the shares they own in public companies (like dtpi, catp...) is worth about 6-700 mm. they then have about 30 private companies that need to go public. One that will go soon is a internet venture firm very similar to a CMGI (an internet favorite that doubles every month or two and has a market cap of about 7 billion. This firm will be red hot and actually owns a good size piece of one company that has already gone public VERT. It was a hot internet company that went straight up. To cut to the chase, the minimum valuation that SFE is worth is probably $40-$45, it is quite possible that as they take ICG (internet capital group, the new co. that is going public this summer) public and follow on with other internet type stuff this thing goes crazy. I honestly would ignore SFE until you KNOW this internet craze is over. It won't be soon. Well, at this point I'm glad that I didn't offer to eat any posts.... (who was that, anyway) good luck trading everyone
