Barbara, regarding level II, The Electronic Daytrader is an excellent book on Level II trading. In short, your buy/sell is sold to the highest bidder and purchased from the lowest price on the ask. The volume that they show is an indication of how many shares they have for sale or are willing to purchase. Although the volume numbers are rarely accurate. The prices shown can give you an indication of where the other buyers and sellers are at. And if enough volume comes in where the stock may be going.

In SKYM, VCSTW, & GRPV currently. Played ACEC & TDEO as well today! Learning how to read the AIQ real time charts and pick highs & lows on high volume NASDAQ stocks.

The following link has lots of good information to study! Hope this helps!
