You must be kidding. If there's one thing we know about capitalism, it's that if there is money to be made, someone will make it. While margins in these areas may be weak, or even negligible, that hardly suggests a mass exodus of the industry. What it rather implies is that the industry is maturing. Mature industries act this way. -mb

Gary, The problem with your hypothesis is that if they raise prices, they will not sell box one. The larger Japanese cos. are raising DRAM production far beyond that taken off the market by those who are cutting back. Of course, if you only look at the headlines, you would think Toshiba is cutting back instead of exiting 64 Mbit chips to produce more 128 Mbit chips. DRAM will be cheap forever.
