The key item in the Bell Atlantic Deal seems to be the Universal Edge 9000. I expect to be hearing more about this product. I wonder if other carriers are interested in this product as their high-speed access platform.

The cornerstone of the Nortel Networks access equipment offering is Nortel Networks' new multi-service high-speed access platform, the Universal Edge 9000 (UE9000), which provides a smooth evolution
path to mission-critical IP networks. All access network elements will be managed by Nortel Networks' state-of-the-art Integrated Network Management (INM) system.

Lerxst- Not to beat a small horse to death, but I am pretty sure Bay never got above $41 7/8th(11/96 or 97, I believe) since the merger of WFLT/SNPX(after accounting for a split of 3/2). However, holders of SNPX shares are worse off than WFLT shareholders due to the merger ratio of .725 of SNPX vs. 1.00 shares of WFLT into the new Bay shares. However, that is water under the bridge; we are all one big (and finally now a happy?) family under NT. One reason I have never sold the bulk of my SNPX shares is I don't want to try to figure out my cost basis after all the splits and mergers. Today, it is a nice problem to have!
