Well, that shoots that idea down. My head is solid rock, does that qualify? No?

I have been harping on what I want for such a long time, I think it would be acceptable to Chris as long as it was not too expensive. He qualifies for a far bigger note than he is willing to take on, because we don't have any debt. I want an updated version of the Pitot house, with better insulation. Or else a house made of brick, if anyone still does those. The Pitot house was built in the mid-18th century on Bayou St. John in New Orleans, it's creole colonial, with a porch on the second floor on three sides of the house. It's not at all grand or fancy.

I recently learned that what I call "Federal" style is actually Greek revival, which surprised me because I thought Greek revival had columns somewhere. Federal style locally has an entablature, etc. but not columns. I have learned to like Federal style, but I would put a veranda.
