Well this isn't quite that...but it's a step in the right direction, a PDF version of your bank statement is shown in the example...wouldn't it be nice to have about 50megs of these on a hard drive linked

I'm not sure if PDF is the way to go in the paperless office for archiving bills. I'd bet on html, xml, ofx, etc. Than many years of your filings will fit in a fraction of 50 Mg.
If you want to have them linked, I thought Quicken has solved that problem in more efficient way than PDF. I've never used it though, so I'm not sure.
