Michael - regarding : The analysis: 4% IP royalty (5.75% today - this will go down)

(I am aware that it was not you who said the above stuff).

Where did we suddenly become aware of the (ballpark estimate) of Qualcomm's royalty rate it charges licensees ?

I thought this was an incredibly well-guarded secret. Did this come out sometime since the big QCOM / ERICY announcement ?

(I have not been able to read every post here lately).

Jon.

You know, I think I met this rich Janitor late one night at Linkabit (forunner of Qualcomm, alot like Fairchild was to Intel...). He was working the midnight shift and he always asked me real technical questions about what I did. After a month of talking to him, I found out he lived next door to Sol Price and had invested $2000 with him to start a little discount food store. So in 1984, he had a return of $1.2M. He was working as a janitor to keep busy and to keep himself exposed to the technical world so that he could do good investing.

I wonder if this is the same guy......
