That rumor has been around for something like two years that I know of. The answer to your question is that it would be good. The reason for that is that the pension fund is over funded. By getting out of the pension business, IBM could pocket the excess in the fund. I heard that they have not had to contribute to the fund for something like 3 or 4 years, since the market is kickin' butt the past few years.

IBM is a stable stock but with the recent market volatility and gyrations, not to mention ridiculous valuations, I think I'll earn money the old fashioned way. Ill get an MBA degree!
